Battery life is generally described in the charging cycles. Also determined by the depth of discharge. (The battery is so flat) and how fast they are accused.

GEM is entitled to a maximum range of 30 miles. If this is ideal conditions and the batteries died, then a couple of dozen or more of these trips could easily damage the batteries.

In the case of the gemstone, which uses deep-cycle lead-acid gel batteries. If one only 10 miles between charges to stay
You should expect 350-400 battery cycles. When you load a new round at shorter intervals

Looking at the prices on this page a great outcry about right.
A conversation with some battery retailers in a position to put his top with another brand (AMP per hour or even more).

Lithium-ion costs a lot more advanced (and you need a special charger). Should be long and only a fraction of the weight. It is only mentioned how it might be a better option long term.

It is depending on the type of batteries. My experience is only with lead-acid batteries in cars, golf carts, solar energy systems and autonomous. I do not plan on the lives of more than 3-4 years. Some may take longer, but the capacity is reduced with age.
